Assignment 1: Your Professional Development PowerPoint
Throughout this course, you built a virtual portfolio using a portfolio tool or a wiki site of your choosing. Review your ROI-kit to ensure that the most updated versions of all artifacts are present. As a whole, your ROI-kit should represent your cumulative understanding of the course content and include all of the revisions you made to your artifacts based on the Instructor and peer feedback you have received. This is your final opportunity to refine and polish your artifacts before grading.
Your ROI-kit is almost ready for final submission! Remember that your ROI-kit is a living record of your skills and accomplishments. After this course ends, you can continue to add to it, keep it current, and use it to as an electronic portfolio to share with friends, coworkers, and potential employers.
Complete the following two parts:
Part A: Final Art of Teaching Online PowerPoint Presentation
Review your work over the course of this term. Create a short PowerPoint that you could deliver as professional development to a new group of online teachers. Be sure to use the new skills that you have acquired and the new ideas that you’ve encountered to teach other instructors how to teach online. As a presentation, your PowerPoint should represent your cumulative understanding of the course content and include best practices that each online faculty member should follow when communicating with students. Use the notes area of the PowerPoint to include your scriipt, and make sure the slides are visually dynamic. This professional development presentation should provide a new online teacher with solid, actionable recommendations gathered from the media, readings, and resources that you’ve engaged with over the term.
Part B: Word Cloud
Create a word cloud to guide the professional development presentation. Take your Annotated Bibliography submissions, and use the summaries to generate a word cloud. Do this by copying the text from each article into an online word cloud generator. (See the links to free word cloud generators in the Optional Learning Resources, or use your search engine to find resources for creating free word clouds.) Take a screen shot of the Word Cloud, and copy it into your presentation.
